Fairs and Festivals -
There is a belief in India that ‘dance is older than the earth itself’ and in its celebration, Khajuraho hosts an annual dance festival in the backdrop of its famous temples in February or March – an opportunity not to be missed. The Camel Festival in Pushkar is equally world famous, where hundreds of thousands of camel, horse and sheep handlers, pilgrims and tourists besiege the otherwise peaceful environs of a sleepy town. The highlight of the festival for the Hindus is a dip in the holy lake. And these are just two of the many hundred such festivals that take place in India, round the year. We would love to take you to them! |
