Discover Buddhism:
Travel
India and you will discover it is the perfect
location to get an introduction to Buddhism, with
the lively ways of an authentic Buddhist monastery
having remained largely well preserved. The Tibetan
colony Mcleodgang (or “Little Lhasa” as the seat
of the Dalai Lama is lovingly called), has Tibetan
monks and prayer flags all over, and it gives you
a chance to experience Tibetan culture first hand.
Another characteristic Tibetan enclave is in southern
India, in Bylakuppe, which has a beautifully carved,
ornate Buddhist temple. Take pictures, listen to
the monks singing, or simply let yourself indulge
in the peace and energy of the place. |
Yoga und Spiritualism:
In Rishikesh, countless ashrams, temples and yoga centres create a unique atmosphere. We will gladly advice you on the best options, and organise your transport and accommodation as well.
Bollywood: Bollywood movies have caught the imagination the world over like few film genres. We offer a special behind-the-scenes look into the makings of a Bollywood blockbuster. In Mumbai, the home of the Indian film industry, visit film studios, meet the performers who create silver screen magic, go to the cinema – and learn a bit about a fascinating country which lends its special charm to the movies. |

Fairs and Festivals: There is a belief in India that dance is older than the earth itself and in its celebration Khajuraho hosts an annual dance festival in the backdrop of its famous temples, in February or March – an opportunity not to be missed. The Camel Festival in Pushkar is equally world famous, where hundreds of thousands of camel, horse and sheep handlers, pilgrims and tourists besiege the otherwise peaceful environs of a sleepy town. The highlight of the festival for the Hindus is a dip in the holy lake. And these are just two of the many hundred such festivals that take place in India, round the year. We would love to take you to them!
