Nepal
- Nine out of ten of the highest peaks in the
world are found here in this Mountain Kingdom, including
the famed Mount Everest with a height of 26,247 feet
above sea level. Deciduous forests, bamboo clusters,
rhododendron and coniferous forests transform with changing
altitude, marking the characteristic landscape, with
almost no vegetation above 11,811 feet. Tigers, leopards,
deer and elephants inhabit the lower more tropical part
of the country while wild goats, wild sheep and wolves
can be found in the higher regions. |
